Nhan Dan- Cruise travel was the main topic of an international conference, which was held on December 10 in Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh province.

Organised by the National Administration of Tourism and the Saigontourist Travel Serveice Company, the conference, the first-ever of its kind held in Vietnam, was attended by representatives of seven international cruise lines and travel agencies.

Vietnam , which boasts more than 3,000 km of coastline, hundreds of beaches and numerous seaports, is emerging as an attractive destination for tourists aboard.

 

However, the number of international guests coming to Vietnam by sea is still low, accounting for only 5.4% of the total tourists to Vietnam. Therefore, the conference was seen as a forum for cruise firms from around the world and their Vietnamese partners to discuss ways to boost long-term co-operation in this field.

Also yesterday, Ha Long Bay also welcomed the Malaysia-flag cruise ship SuperStar Libra, which carried some 1,200 tourists, most of them from Hong Kong, China. This was SuperStar Libra’s second weekly visit to Ha Long Bay since the beginning of the year.
